Masterpiece in white gold
This masterpiece features a 42-mm case in white gold with satin-brushed and polished surfaces. The bezel, with its delicate knurled edge, takes up the characteristic concave form of historical marine chronometers, thus ensuring an authentic look. The sapphire crystal case back affords clear views of the finely finished manual winding manufacture movement. A dark blue Louisiana alligator leather strap rounds off the sophisticated appearance.
Inspired by history
The dial of this chronometer takes inspiration from historic predecessor models and is distinguished by optimal legibility and a functional design. Fashioned from solid gold, the shimmering silver surface is the result of traditional silver plating by friction. Pear-shaped hands in blued steel trace their paths, indicating the hours and minutes of the day. Additional blued hands mark the displays for the running time and the small seconds.
The finely finished gold-plated Calibre 58-03 manufacture movement is fitted with a sophisticated second-stop mechanism with an innovative minute detent. This ensures the correct relationship between seconds and minutes when setting the time. In addition, a so-called “jumping date mechanism” guarantees a precise change of the Panorama Date at midnight.
The quality of the Senator Chronometer is put to the test by the German Calibration Service. Compared to other test standards such as the Contrôle Officiel Suisse des Chronomètres (COSC), the German chronometer standard specifically requires that the movement complete the tests while mounted in its case.
