The Senator Excellence Perpetual Calendar from Glashütte Original in a Limited Edition for Bucherer BLUE EDITIONS
Glashütte Original and Bucherer Jewellery present the German art of watchmaking at its finest with the Senator Excellence Perpetual Calendar in a strictly limited edition of 50 for Bucherer BLUE EDITIONS. This special edition is distinguished by a harmonious and exceptionally legible arrangement of the Perpetual Calendar’s characteristic displays: along with the Panorama Date, weekday, month and leap year, this edition presents the moon phase in a separate window. The dial appears in a shade of blue created exclusively for Bucherer, and the pattern impressed in the special rubber strap recalls the number 1888, the year Bucherer was founded.
BLUE EDITIONS Collection from Bucherer has been enriched by a masterpiece of the German art of watchmaking. With the special edition of the Senator Excellence Perpetual Calendar, limited to only 50 pieces, Glashütte Original has successfully given one of the German manufactory’s classic watches an unmistakable, modern and sophisticated appearance. The stylish dark blue of the dial makes a particularly elegant impression and serves as a superb eye-catcher on the wrist of style-conscious gentlemen.
Milestones in the art of watchmaking
With its complex movement and clever complications the Senator Excellence Perpetual Calendar is a milestone in the history of the German manufactory. As long ago as 1999, Glashütte Original presented the Perpetual Calendar in a new design, which 20 years ago was truly revolutionary and which remains convincing in its contemporary form today. For the first time, the Senator Classic Perpetual Calendar presented detailed calendar information in pure, elegant display windows – rather than in the usual circular displays. In doing so the Saxon manufactory gave the high complication a look that still holds a secure place in the manufactory’s Senator Collection today.
The 20th anniversary of the Perpetual Calendar is reason enough for Glashütte Original to crown this exceptional timepiece with a Bucherer BLUE EDITIONS version celebrating the trusted long-term partnership with the Swiss jeweller. Even though the watch features a highly complex mechanism, the manufactory has succeeded perfectly in fulfilling customers’ desire for intuitive operation and exceptional legibility in everyday use. The exclusive nature of this model is also evident in the sapphire crystal case back of this technical masterpiece – which makes it possible not only to admire the highly refined movement but to document each watch’s place in the limited edition through the sequential numbering from 1- 50, clearly visible through the case back.
Since 2017 the Perpetual Calendar from Glashütte Original has featured the path-breaking Calibre 36, which thanks to its 100 hour power reserve, anti-magnetic silicon balance spring and innovative bayonet mounting is exceptionally well equipped to meet the demands of modern life.
Sophistication in blue
The BLUE EDITIONS special edition proves inspiring thanks not only to its exceptional horological refinements but to details developed exclusively for Bucherer. Glashütte Original specialists in the watchmaker’s own dial manufactory in Pforzheim, Germany, created a unique shade of blue that has not appeared in any of the manufactory’s collections to date. Together with its case in stainless steel the timepiece offers a perfect combination of a classic business and a casually elegant look. Glashütte Original’s designers were inspired to create an additional feature as well: the pattern on the sporty and chic rubber strap recalls the number 1888 – an elegant reference to the year Bucherer was founded.
