Boris Herrmann

With the offshore sailor Boris Herrmann, Glashütte Original has succeeded in bringing an extraordinary and committed partner aboard. After exactly 80 days at sea, the likeable German has completed the renowned Vendée Globe on January 28, 2021 in 5th place – in defiance of all obstacles. His constant companion during the many storm-tossed days was the SeaQ Panorama Date from Glashütte Original.

Around the world in 80 days

Mount Everest of the oceans

As one of 33 skippers, Boris Herrmann set sail in his yacht, Seaexplorer – Yacht Club de Monaco, on November 8, 2020 from Les Sables d’Olonne in France. He is the first German to participate in this race across the world’s oceans.

Commitment to climate protection

During the race, Boris gathered important oceanographic data that will help scientists better understand climate change and contribute to its mitigation.

Ultimate endurance test

Like the courageous adventurer, Glashütte Original is never content to rest on its laurels. Boris Herrmann has been accompanied on the Seaexplorer throughout the ultimate endurance test by the highly precise and reliable SeaQ Panorama Date.

“I cannot thank enough my wonderful team, supportive family and loyal partners such as Glashütte Original. Without the amazing team spirit I felt throughout the race, this success would not have been possible.”
